Thread: Think Redmond

Think Redmond

#1Aug 2, 2011, 02:46 AM

I just recently came across the "Think Redmond" program put out by the Chamber, City of Redmond, and I think a few other sponsors.  They provide marketing and incentives to help bring awareness and support for local businesses.

I worked with a similar program up in Bellingham, WA and they were great at encouraging residents to "think local, be local, buy local."  It was incredibly successful and really got residents to support their local businesses.

It's been a great resource to just check out the business directory when I'm looking for a new place to go or local service that is owned and operated in Redmond.  Some places even offer a discount if you have a card (which I think is free).  But now that I know about it, I see more and more window decals with the logo around town.

I'd much rather support our local economy, so I make an effort to check in here first :)
