Become a Citizen Scientist For Redmond's Forests
Registration is now open to become a "Citizen Scientist" and help monitor the health of Redmond's urban forest. Green Redmond Partnership, EarthCorps, the City of Redmond, and others are working together to monitor the local parks between July and October of this year.
No experience is necessary to volunteer. There will be one introductory training session and then volunteers commit to establishing at least 2 monitoring plots.
Monitoring is essential to gauge the effectiveness of restoration efforts that have been completed to remove invasive species. The data you collect will be used to help better manage our urban forests.
Training in Redmond will be July 19th from 5:30-9pm.
For more information, contact Malia at forestmonitoring@earthcorps.org or visit EarthCorps.org.
